Letter from the PTO President

Dear Families,

I want to welcome prospective families, new families, and returning families to the St. Jude PTO!  We are comprised of the parents, guardians, staff, faculty, administration, and clergy of St. Jude School and Church community.  As a collective group, our mission is to work to give the students at St. Jude School opportunities that enhance their education.  The foremost method to accomplish this is by raising money to help support those needs.

As a member of the PTO, we ask that everyone gets involved in the school community in whatever capacity allowed.  Over 500 independent studies on parent involvement show that when parents get involved in their children's education grades go up, test scores improve, children are more likely to attend better schools after high school, they have fewer discipline problems and they are less likely to use drugs and alcohol.  We welcome your ideas, your time, and your support! This past year we were able to offer funds for the following items:

  • Cover the cost of field trips for all students
  • Support faculty in continuing education
  • Establish a safety fund for future school measures
  • New benches for the school lobby
  • New fans for each classroom to circulate air
  • Permanent basketball hoops for recess

Without your support during the year, none of these items would be possible!

As we embark on a new school year, I would urge you to find ways to get involved in the PTO. We are all working towards a common goal. That goal, simply stated, is creating a better school and better educational experience for our children. We strive to create an atmosphere where teachers, administrators, and support staff can do their best work – and so can our children. Please reach out to any of the board members; attend our meetings, or volunteer to help. Our school community will continue to thrive with the families that choose St. Jude for school.

On behalf of the St. Jude PTO, I would once again like to extend a warm welcome and best wishes for a successful school year!  Please contact me, or anyone on the board, with questions or comments.   Thank you for your continued support!
