National Tryouts

For 8U level and up only.

Multple evaluation dates at St. Jude Fields will take place in July. Information regarding dates and times will be posted in the Bulletin, Hey Jude and social media posts.

Players who want to be considered for a National level team need to attend at least one of the tryout dates.

As always, there will be a St. Jude team for your player, regardless of making a National team or not. Our goal is to ensure a team for all our players. The number of national teams depend on the number of players at the 8U level and up.

Players who make the National team the previous season are not guaranteed a spot for for the next season. All players are encouraged to attend their division’s tryout, but if for some reason are unable, contact the tryout coordinator. Exceptions can be made for players to attend another session and a makeup tryout will be scheduled as needed.

Please note, players not making a National team will be rostered on St. Jude’s American team in the appropriate age group. Players will be evaluated and rated by a group of impartial observers. After tryouts, the coaches and St. Jude Baseball Committee will determine if a National team will be fielded. This will be based upon coach preference, player ability, team composition, and number of players signing up in each age level. For any questions related to tryouts, please contact Brandon Goff.

Jersey care instructions from the manufacturer:

Please do not:

  • Wash in warm water
  • Put in dryer at any setting
  • Use bleach of any kind, including detergents that have bleach in them
  • Use fabric softeners

A thorough background check is required for all those employed or volunteering to work with youth or vulnerable adults as a cleric, at a parish or school, as an Archdiocesan employee or at an Archdiocesan institution. All volunteers and employees are required to complete the electronic/online background check through SELECTION.com prior to beginning their volunteer activity or employment. In addition to the electronic/online background check, employees are required to complete manual fingerprinting and submit a B4 form before begin- ning their employment at an Archdiocesan parish, school, or institution.
