The St. Jude girls’ basketball teams are open to all girls from the 3rd grade through the 12th grade and all of these teams play in the Girls Western Athletic Conference (GWAC). We can/will form teams at the following grades/levels based upon the number of participants::

  • 5/6th – (A) Top level
  • 5/6th – (B1) Second level

  • High School Recreational -  if there is sufficient interest from St. Jude alumnae

The GWAC basketball season typically begins in early February and runs through March, with practices commencing in January.

All girls registered will be placed on a team.  Teams at the A and B1 levels in the 5th-8th grades are chosen based upon a tryout process. Due to limited gym capacity, tryouts are typically held in the fall during the final two weeks of October but are subject to change.  All girls wishing to try out for the A or B1 teams are required to attend at least one of the tryout dates.  However, it is encouraged you attend both tryouts.  Special arrangements may be provided if you are unable to attend tryouts due to conflict or injury or input from a previous coach may be considered.

Instructional basketball at the 3rd and 4th grade level means that wins and losses are not recorded.

Please contact the basketball coordinator, currently Boll Poland, with any questions or if you’d like to volunteer as coach.
