Girls Volleyball

Girls’ Volleyball is for girls in the 3rd – 8th grades. Girls’ volleyball competes in the Girls Western Athletic Conference (GWAC). More information can be found at gwacsports.com.

Players in grades 3-4 play in an instructional league with the true purpose being to teach the girls how to properly play the game and to develop necessary skills to become a better player. 

Players in grades 5-6 will form combo teams, as will players in grades 7-8.  Each grade level will have levels of competition (A, B1, and B) and tryouts are held each year before the season to fairly determine on which team a girl will play. 

Registration

Information regarding signup dates and times will be posted in the Bulletin, Hey Jude and social media posts.

Schedule

All games begin in early November. The 3rd-4th grade teams end the season before Christmas while the 5th-8th grade teams play into the month of January.  

Summer League

Held during the summer in Saint Jude New gym. Information regarding signup dates and times will be posted in the Bulletin, Hey Jude and social media posts.

A thorough background check is required for all those employed or volunteering to work with youth or vulnerable adults as a cleric, at a parish or school, as an Archdiocesan employee or at an Archdiocesan institution. All volunteers and employees are required to complete the electronic/online background check through SELECTION.com prior to beginning their volunteer activity or employment. In addition to the electronic/online background check, employees are required to complete manual fingerprinting and submit a B4 form before begin- ning their employment at an Archdiocesan parish, school, or institution.
