Biography

Dr Karin Mendoza

Blessings! I am so excited to be a Bulldog and joining the St. Jude family. My teaching journey began as a 4th grade classroom teacher with the Jesuit International Volunteers in a Catholic mission school in the Federated States of Micronesia. I returned to the USA and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (Brattleboro, VT) and taught pre-K through 12th grades internationally in the countries of Indonesia, Thailand, Guam, and China. Domestically, I have taught in the Cincinnati Public Schools (6, 7, 8th grades), Lowell Public Schools (1st, 9, 10, 11 and 12th grades), Hamilton County (pre-K -12 in 7 districts), Clermont County (pre-K-12, Special Needs units) and undergraduate college students at UC, UC Clermont, NKU and Chatfield College. I am a product of Catholic schools (St. Bernadette, McNicholas High School, Xavier University) and just graduated from the Athenaeum/Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry. I hold a doctorate in Education (Curriculum & Instruction/Science Education) from the University of Cincinnati and will be in my 30th year of teaching. I look forward to this new adventure of teaching Science and Math at the 5th and 6th grade levels embedded in the Christ-centered community of St. Jude. My passions are reading, live music, traveling to new countries to eat new foods, experience new cultures and meet new people!  I am an active parishioner at St. Mary’s (Bethel, Ohio) with my daughter and husband.
